Now I'm just 41.

My birthday was great -- thanks to all who added well wishes here. (Oh, and I finally saw all the various e-cards this morning. Thanks for those too! I feel like such a techno-dork.) Shawn and I ended up at Baboni's (a Kurdish restaurant in Saint Paul.) We've been there many times before, and, as usual the food and the atmosphere (not to mention the company!) was great. Kurdish food, for those of you who may be wondering, is to my mind best described as a combination of Turkish food and Russian. There's cabbage and beef and tabouli, you know? Anyway, hard as that may be to imagine, it was really quite good. We were back home by 7:00 pm, though, so our poor babysitter did not make much money. I was crashed and in bed by 8:00 pm. I'm such a party animal. As
xochiquetzl teased, "If you're a party animal, which animal are you?" My response? A badger. I'm kind of a grumpy, early retiring party animal. Or at least I was last night. Most of the time I'm an otter, who would rather play than eat. (Otters are apparently the only animal that will skip actual life maintaining issues to goof off. Now there's an animal for me!)
I've been taking a small hiatus from writing to get far too into my WitchSchool.com stuff. It's going to be time now to get back focused on writing, especially as I have class tonight (argh! Don't forget, Lyda!)
One other quick news, our beloved white, female betta "creepy" (aka South Africa) died peacefully yesterday in her tank. She's been with us nearly a year. Please join in on the benediction: "Gucci, gucci, you were a good fish."
Anyway, I must be off. Speaking of animal wellness, Ms. Piggy is due at the vet in a half hour.
