The Mouse Hole
Apr. 24th, 2012 01:09 pmToday I finally dug the "mouse hole."
You may remember that several months ago, when the ground was still frozen, our gerbil Busy Bee died. Not knowing what else to do with her, we wrapped her gently in a fabric shroud, put her in a box, and... stuck her in the freezer.
She's been waiting for me to dig her grave ever since. The weather cooperated some time ago and this could have been done so much earlier... but it was just hard. I finally had the mental strength to do it today.
Tonight some time after dinner, perhaps, we'll finally lay Ms. Busy Bee to rest.
Which is good, because I nearly had a heart attack the other day when I was reaching for the frozen peas and her little coffin-box fell out onto the floor. Luckily, it didn't open, but, it's time to get the mouse out of the freezer.
