I just got my final programming from Wiscon and here it is....





What? You see a whole lot of nothing, well, that's because that's exactly what I've been scheduled for. I got panels, no party, no reading, nothing.

That's a whole lot of awesome. (sarcasm.)

I seriously don't know what's going on with programming this year! I've got two out of the bunch I volunteered for (I wasn't expecting to get the whole bunch, mind!), and felt perturbed until I noted that they had a lot of volunteers this year.

But while I am a low-rep non-published blogger-type, *you* are a successful author and extremely popular panellist! It makes no sense!

Well, I probably shouldn't complain publicly, but I'm feeling particularly dissed this year because my writers' group didn't get their party room this year either and, while I luckily had the Broad Universe Rapid Fire Reading to fall back on, they didn't schedule a reading for the Periphery people either, which means I got no reading either.

I love WisCON, but... well, I guess this means I get a vacation with my sweetie at a hotel full of fellow travelers. As we say in Minnesota, "Could be worse."

Wow. That doesn't make any sense to me at all. I may have been just a newbie last year, but you were one of my top 2 favorite panelists, and a damn fine facilitator. I'm bummed for you and me both, now.

I was told that there were computer errors a couple of weeks ago. Like, when I got my first programming email that looked a lot like your final programming email, and emailed back to say, "OMGWTFBBQ?" *facepalm*

Thanks for the link, but I can't do sign-out. Mason has school starting on Tuesday, and we need to be able to get to grandma and grandpa's to pick him up and get him in bed at a reasonable hour Monday night.

This must be a computer glitch. A friend of mine who is neither transgender nor indicated an interest in the panel got put on that one until she spoke up. Did you contact to ask them what was up?

I'm really hopeful for the glitch theory, however, a number of people in my writers' group all got their final schedules without a hitch.

I have contacted Steve, the guy who sent me the programming email, about the schedule and basically begged (and, okay, I admit it, whined a bit,) for a panel.

I suspect the truth of the matter is that my schedule is tough to work around. Shawn and I aren't planning on being at WisCON until late on Friday and we leave early Monday (see my note above). Saturday is the popular day for star panelists, and they've got to accomodate people like their guests of honor and folks who come from a lot farther away than Minnesota, I suppose.

And thanks to all of you who said I'm a panelist you look forward to seeing. I appreciate that a lot. I work hard to be a good moderator/panelist, particularly at WisCON.

That's very weird. As you said, maybe it's your schedule. I expect that madcapricorn knows what a great panelist and moderator you are, at least. It's hard to imagine them not putting you on as many panels as they possibly can. (That's my usual philosophy, anyway.)

I'm pretty sure that's a mistake. (Speaking as programming co-chair and all.) Your preliminary schedule is probably more accurate. Expect a new e-mail in the next few days.

P.S. Steven isn't the one you should be e-mailing; me or Aaron or the programming list is correct. He's just the programmer.

Oh dear, I hope it does indeed turn out to be an error. I've definitely enjoyed your panels at Wiscons past. Also, if you're around on Friday night and so inclined, please do drop by the Think Galactic party. We should have tasty treats (chocolate fondue, fruit, etc.) and fun activities (make your own spaceship, and I think Exquisite Corpse has been planned). And hey, Think Galactic read _Archangel Protocol_ this year, which obviously means you deserve fondue and such.
