I just finished reading Periphery last night. Excellent anthology overall - I don't think there was one story that I went "eh" over, which is unusual - and I really enjoyed "Ishtartu."

One of the (many) things I enjoy about your work (and I think this is true, to some degree, in just about everything I've read of yours to date, including her books) is your exploration of the kinds of roles that both religion and spirituality (which are not always the same thing) can play in both our personal lives and in the culture, nation, world.

Thanks for another reading experience that touched me on many levels.
