You're carefully explaining to me how to improve my craft, and I look like I'm taking careful note.  But I'm really drawing this and thinking, "Dinosaur with feathers EATS you!!!!"

This is Albert the Allosaurus (yes, those are insulating feathers) from Eleanor Arnason's newest BIG MAMA story, which I drew last night while someone was trying to tell me something.  Eleanor wasn't at Wyrdsmith's last night because we ended up having to change venues (the Black Dog had some kind of a fundraiser), so this is what's now on the back of her story in lieu of a critique.  But tell me, Isn't he adorable?  Don't you just wish you had a dwarf allosaurus all your own??

I TOTALLY want an allosaurus of my own but only if it's as cute as Albert and also if Big Mama trains him for me. I'm not sure I'm up to training my own allosaurus.

That's it. Instead of reading your stuff and making comments any more, I'm just going to turn on a white noise machine during my critiquing time for you at meeting and read the paper. Not that you will apparently notice. ;P

(The coloring job turned out nice, btw. :)

The best part is that you even coloured him!

Just don't throw it away! That is TOTALLY posterity-worthy.

You know, my significant other is in my critique group. I suspect that if one of us did that there would be some kind of nookie strike.

Well, there's doodling and then there's doodling, you know? I don't place that much faith in my or my SO's multitasking abilities (Okay, I'm frequently forced to multitask geekery, but nothing makes me crankier than when someone interrupts me when I'm trying to focus my geekitude). And things that look like tuning out are frowned upon in our group.

That's not the same thing as "not allowed to doodle when people are talking." That sounds like a rule. We're bad at rules. ;)
