I'm such a Minnesotan. I really do prefer these cool, temperate days. I would be fine if it never got over 75 F / 23 C. God damn, feel that wind, people! It's COOL.
The trouble with Perfect Weather Days (which this one really was) is that I feel guilty for not spending the whole day outside.
I did spend a couple of hours vacuuming out the van, which is one of the most inexplicably exhausting chores ever. Is it all the bending and stretching and crawling in and out? Carrying the car vacuum hither and yon, up and down? Stowing and unstowing the Stow-n-Go Seats and sliding them forward and back? Or is it the actual vacuuming? Whatever it is, I'm exhausted. But at least the inside of the van wasn't like a sauna.
I agree with you that car cleaning is weirdly exhausting. It is one of the few luxuries we indulge in, which is taking our car to one of those places where other people will do it for you.
It's glorious. And the low will be in the FIFTIES. I am leaving every single window open all night long and if it gets too cold I will PUT ON A SWEATER. Those horrible days in the nineties when the air was so bad you couldn't open up and cool down the house at night are, well, probably they'll come back, but they aren't in the ten-day forecast.
The only problem is that all the tasks I put off when it was too hot and the air was too bad to do them are right here. Still, I got a few of them done. And it was just such a pleasure to take out the damn trash. And to know that the issue really was the smoke, I haven't suddenly developed an inability to go up two flights of stairs without puffing like a bellows.
Seriously, I also waited for cool weather to take out the trash. I am just not equipped to deal with too much hot.
I love being able to wear jeans? It's weird. I know it's going to get hot again for a bit, but it looks like mid-80s after that, which I CAN deal with.
It's gorgeous today! Pat and I walked around Lake Nokomis this morning, and it was great. (And there was a red-wing blackbird that posed for us on a post from just a few feet away.)
