Stupidness, Sickness, and Marvel Slash

I am such a dork. I hurt my knee falling out of bed last night. Sheesh.
Also, God got me. I boasted on-line about not catching cold due to my massively a**-kicking constitution, and guess what? I suffered all night long with a cold that seems to have taken up residence in my immune system. Bleah.
However, in the good news department, class went really well last night, I thought. Everyone stayed awake, which is always a good sign, particularly since class doesn't start until 7:30 pm. Also, I had no problem getting volunteers for critique, which is almost always a positive indicator of class participation.
Also, despite not having all of "Winter Soldier," I read the Death of Captain America (#25) last night and the follow-up issues to the "present." I've become a raving fan of Ed Brubaker (the writer). Also, I have a theory.
Oh, and the Marvel slashers are so right. I wasn't convinced about the likelihood of Iron Man/Captain America, but Steve left Tony a personal, hand-written (eyes-only) letter upon the event of his death. It looked short. I totally think it read: "No matter what, I'll always love you." Because Tony looked stricken.
I didn't get much work done on my own slash, but I've got about an hour before I have to go pick up Mason from school. I still have to think of an ending for this thing (which is hard on a lot of levels, because just like in "real" writing I think it's important to have an emotional crescendo as well as a definitive and satisfactory ending to the "action" -- which in this case is sex.) You know, writing slash might actually be good for me if only because I always have SUCH trouble ending anything -- novels, short stories. Maybe I can actually get some practice in with slash.
Okay, I'm off to do it.... as it were.

My theory is this: Steve Rogers is actually dead (unlike so many Marvel charcters), and I beat Bucky Barnes will become the new Captain America. I mean, the dude stole the real adamantium shield from S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, because he doesn't trust anyone else with it. Even though he has an extremely shady past in Russia (which I'm still somewhat in the dark about, since I'm missing the missing volumes), I'd actually be really okay with that. These days it doesn't even seem terribly wrong that Captain America would be a Soviet trained asssassin. I mean, our country is so f**ked up in so many ways, Bucky would be a great symbol for us all. At least he kicks a**.
