Quilts and Cats

Happy Wednesday. I'm not reading much besides other people's blogs and news at the moment. Will post once I get further into the Tucker book, however.
Shawn was able to successfully schedule a tele-appointment with a urologist. Hooray! So, that should help relieve some anxiety. We also finally heard from the nurse that she doesn't think that the results warranted any kind of REAL panic. As I was telling a friend, this is the problem with not knowing if the email means "SEE A UROLOGIST ASAP" or "see an urologist asap." Turns out, they meant the latter. *wipes sweat from brow*
Here is a picture of my adorable co-worker, Willow:
*
Image: smol, adorable goblin in fluffy beanbag chair.
Willow was watching me, with this vaguely sleepy, vaguely disgruntled why-won't-you-play-with me look as I sorted fabrics for the stress quilt. My family was (rightly so) mad at me for having spread my fabric everywhere and so I was on the floor sorting it as I took this picture. She just wanted me to play with her some more. (Also, can I call bullshit on all those memes that show cats angry that their people are home? Mine are all, "OOOOO, the red dot can be played all day now!!" Red dot being the laser pointer that Shawn dug up a few days ago that the cats think is The Bomb.)
However, I will also show off my progress on the quilt.

Image: riot of squares and void cat actually being unable to disappear into the colorful background.
Otherwise, I am still mostly unable to write much due to low-grade anxiety (or possibly a lack of espresso.) I'm disappointed that we may be finally getting the order from the governor that we're going into shelter in place because my coffee shop had finally re-opened for curbside delivery. I feel like caffeine should be considered an essential service... :-/
I finished binge-watching two anime. I watched all of Case Files of the Jeweler Richard and Natsuyuki Rendezvous. The first is based on a series of light novels, the second has a manga, which I may review later. If anyone wants to hear what they were about (or what I thought of them), let me know, and I'll discuss them here or in the comments with you. I have a bunch of others queued up because it turns out I can quilt and watch my little iPad in my lap. So, I'm catching up on all the things. Who knows,
naomikritzer , maybe I'll finally get around to watching "The Good Place" this way.
Feel free to keep checking in. I'd love to hear how you all are doing. I had a Zoom yesterday with a friend and his friends and that did a ton to lift my spirits.

Date: 2020-03-26 03:35 pm (UTC)Financially, we're fine. We've got savings, Denise has inherited retirement income, we're in a place where we can share with others having a harder time, like a friend whose three jobs--selling pottery, teaching pottery at a community center, and substitute teaching for the school district--all imploded.
It's just that weird feeling of limbo, of not being sure what to do now, that feels so weird.
