Here's the 42nd post:
Colin Covert wrote an article for the Rake called “Park ‘n Pray: Getting Right with God – Without Leaving Your Car” about the former St. Croix Hilltop Drive-In Theatre’s Sunday morning worship service. You can read it here:
Park 'n Pray
You might suspect that I’m about to mock this practice, but you’d be wrong. I think this sounds totally cool. If I were a Christian, this is how I’d worship. Open air always works for me, and the idea of getting a chance to see a bald eagle or two along the river seems very honestly spiritual. I especially love the idea of flicking on your windshield wipers when you feel moved to “clap,” and honking horns instead of shouting Amen. It sounds a bit silly, but terribly, terribly joyous.
And I'm down with that.
