This is from Tobias Bucknell's blog:

"SF Bloggers needed

Someone is looking for a media-SF blogger for pay here at Digital Life News.

I am especially looking for people interested in Battlestar Galactica(old and/or new), as well as Star Wars, Babylon 5, Quantum Leap,Heroes, and other such shows. To review current and old episodes, give overviews of what is happening in the shows, movies and books, as well as keep on top of movie, and upcoming television show developments. We will also discuss technology we loved in the shows/movies, merchandise that can be bought, what actors/actresses are doing now, if their shows are over, or even if they are still in production.

Pay will be negotiated based on experience but this is a paid part time position. Pay to increase as site traffic increases. Bonuses also available for traffic increases."

Tell me I already have too much to do. There's no way I could blog for a living... right?

Right?

Are you applying?

Are you going to hate me if I apply for this?

Okay. You have too much to do.

Currently.

You cannot write, teach, mentor, and blog, in addition to keeping up your relationships, etc. Three of those things, yes, but not four. Say-- purely for example, of course--that you drop the mentorship thing, though. Then, given a focused schedule, yeah, I think you could do it. Purely hypothetical, of course. You'd have to finish out this round of mentoring, but then you could do it. I'm not suggesting anything, of course. Just pushing the wind around. Spec-u-lation. Yup.

The other question is, while it may be cool, will it bring in enough money compared to the other things you could be doing during that same time frame (writing, teaching, or intangible costs like child care, etc.)? In other words, is it worth the time you would give it - including not just writing and watching the show(s), but also keeping current with all of them on the web, as well as adding more programs (because you know you will :) - vs. the time you could spend doing other things?

In other words, cost-benefit comparison. My gut inclination is that you probably have other things to do with your time, or better ways to make money that won't eat as much of said time.
