No, I did not find a date to the parade, but...
My father just wrote to tell me this cool bit of family (potential) history:
"I just read your blog. I must have told you the Morehouse/Irish story. Here it is. In 1999, when we were at Oxford for a conference (Living in college no less), I met 4 elementary teachers from Dublin. They attended my paper, and we were talking afterwards. Two of them started talking to each other and I overheard one saying, "Should we tell him?" They then told me that were was an Irish family at their school named Morehouse (same spelling), BUT they were 'traveling people' - gypsies. So we may have some Irish ancestery on the traveler's side of the family tree. I think this is more likely than the part of our genealogy that traces the family name back to the early settlers in New York and New England."
So maybe I AM a bit Irish, after all.
