Not Much New, What the Hey?
Feb. 23rd, 2009 09:39 amEven though I shouldn't have, I kind of took a break from writing this week. First, I was nearly killed by the virus from HELL, and then I wrote a final scene and --even though the book falls 20,000 words short of a "real" novel (80,000 in this case)-- I kind of went "whoot! I'm done!!" and didn't write for another several days.
I suck.
But, I've been getting a LOT of sleep.
And I've been doing some WitchSchool related things, like, a quarter writing class, which has had me doing some meditations (mmmmm, sleep!) and composing some poetry of sorts (yikes!)
Plus, I did some on-line research into the Community Supported Agriculture Farms that were listed in the Winter issue of Edible Twin Cities, which I happened to pick up at Kolwalski's one time. I think we're going to buy into "Diftless Organics," as they offer a share that's every other week and only $300 for the year if we sign up before March 1. Plus they have a pick-up in the Hamline University area. I've never done this, but it sounds like a lot of fun. It's an easy way to get a TON of veggies and, I'll admit, I'm not always good about picking up vegetables and I think this might be a good way to get us all in the habit of eating them. This year Mason wants to grow a "victory garden" of sorts, so we can try growing our own fresh veggies. The biggest problem for us is sun. We have a ton of space for a garden, but not a lot of sunny spots. We may have to do a little rearranging this year and move the flower garden to the shadier spot and the veggies to the front (of the back yard.) I don't know about you, but I'm totally in the seed catalogue groove right now. I'm thinking about all the fun things to plant and grow. Ready for SPRING to sprung. I suspect that four inches of snow that dropped on us has something to do with my sudden urge to till the soil.
So tonight I have to hit the writing books, as it were, and get back into the swing of writing. Anyway, Mason has burst into tears because I'm good at guessing the words he's scrambled. Got to go.
