I did end up at the rally/protest/march in Minneapolis on Saturday along with my friend Ger and

jiawen, and I have to say it was really well organized and nicely attended. I then was on Minnesota Cafe (on Air America) for a couple of seconds, letting Cathy Hauser (a friend from my coffee shop, Cafe Amore) know how it all went. It was kind of my Big Gay Saturday, because then later we had our friends Andrew and his boyfriend over for dinner. We'd never met Roland, Andrew's boyfriend, and he great -- and really great with Mason, who decided as he was headed to bed that Andrew and Roland now ranked as his fifth best friends. (I have no idea who came before, but it still seems impressive to crack the top ten in just a few short hours.)

For my birthday today since Mason is home on Intersession until after Turkey Day, Mason and I went to the Minnesota Zoo. Now my toes are quite cold, and I'm tired. Shawn is taking me out to dinner at five. I'm thinking about going to Moscow on the Hill, although I may try somewhere else. I really haven't decided yet.

And to all my friends and family who wrote notes on Facebook and sent electronically animated cards: I appreciate your love and support, but I dial-up and I have no idea what you sent me because I can't read it (although I am trying to get into Facebook even as we speak.) I'll take my laptop to the coffee shop tomorrow, however, so I'll see them then!

Oh, and I'm 41.
