Writing Times and Life

I learned something important about myself and that is that I've completely f**ked up my writing bio-rhythms. Used to be when I had a full-time job (and should really have been working for The Man,) I wrote best between the hours of nine and noon. I couldn't write at night to save my soul. Then, when Mason was born, I forced myself with caffeine to write after eight/nine o'clock PM. I struggled with that for years. Now, here I sit at the coffee house during the hours that used to be my prime, realizing that I'm struggling to write now and that last night I wrote 600 words like they were nothing.



I think I'm going to have to surrender to the new bio-rhythm. Weird.



Mason had a geat time this weekend at his classmate's birthday party. If I get a chance I'll relate some of the "cute Mason stories" here.



We bought a new computer with my royalty money. Don't ask me specs. I have no idea. As I've been teasing Shawn, it's actually HER computer. I use my laptop almost exclusively these days, even for updating my webpages, so...what do I need that fancy new flat screen for, anyway? (It *is* very pretty to look at, though I hear "Window's Vista" is a b**ch.)



Oh, and Xochitquezl sent me more fic. It's so awesome it made me embarrass myself in public.

I know. Take heart: no one else can spell it, either. Which means no one else wants it, mwahahahahaha!

(That's not true, actually. There's a Xochiquetzl who writes Hornblower fic who isn't me.)
