That's gotta be a youngster. Maybe it isn't, but it feels like a youngster move.
I felt the same way about the Hugos. It's not that any of the winners were undeserving, but someone did a tally and most of them were second-time winners? And a few had won quite a bit more. Clarke finally getting one after being the Susan Lucci of SFF was delightful, especially after he supported Isabel Fall, and I was also really happy the Expanse won. Someone said after examining the PDF with the details that the voting was very close in some areas? Maybe that had something to do with more familiar names winning? IDK.
Many people have tried to explain to me how the Hugo vote rankings work, and I remain bepuzzled. (This has also happened with people trying to explain irrational numbers and the stock market.)
