It is in fact very creepy and indicative of really really deep problems, worse than I'd vaguely thought, though goodness knows I did not think the problems were not well rooted already.
I didn't fail prep in quite the usual way, but I know people who did and would be happy to pontificate about both possibilities when the time seems right.
