My Friend Bill, the BEST Lesbian Ever
Jan. 8th, 2009 01:40 pmShawn bought one of those gadgets from ThinkGeek.com that converts cassette tapes to .mp3s some time ago, but we don't really have the room or the time to fiddle around with it. So, we found a friend willing to take it on permanent loan, as long as he'd be willing to ocassionally as *his* time allows (with two kids) convert some of our really old cassettes for us. As part of this project, I've been going through my ancient cassettes.
I came across Ani DiFranco today, and half way through the first tape I had to call my dear friend from my RenFest days, Bill (Spelled William), to let him know that he is, in point of fact, the very BEST lesbian ever. (Poor Bill also has the dubious credit of being my very last boyfriend ever, and as he joked on the phone, not only does he turn 'em, he knows how to keep 'em happy.)
Old, radical Ani DiFranco makes me really, truly happy.
I mean, why wouldn't I relate to a line like this?: "I can't apologize for everything I know. You don't have to agree with everything I say, but, once you get me going, you better just let me go..." (What If No One's Watching.)
