Yeah, I didn't take it too personally. Mason can actually be kind of socially clueless (not totally abnormal for a five-almost-six year old,) but for some reason it totally hit me this time.

We did go to the park and also had a great time on the River Road, where he told me it was the best day EVER. So I guess it was a weird little passing observation.
