Mystery of the Dead Shrimp

Jacques is either a serial killer or I have really bad luck when I pick out shrimp.

(Cue scary music.)

We found Beethoven dead last night.

I actually think it was natural causes mitigated by the fact that he got a bit jostled during the ride home.  Just like when we bought our first feeder fish, no one treats these guys with particular care when handling because they figure we’re just feeding them to something bigger. It’d be like if we were actually raising crickets.  So, he got fairly manhandled during transport.  Also, I picked him because he was ginormous and, consequently, he was probably one seriously old dude.  And deaf to boot.  (Okay, I made up that last part, but it seemed fitting given his name.)

Gucci, Gucci, Beethoven.  You were a good shrimp.

A recurring thought, in following your ichthyian travails - perhaps you should reconsider your supplier (and not mix fish, plants, etc. from that source and a new supplier). I'm not gonna say I'm privy to any inside information, but there's this thing about big chain stores and the quality of their merchandise that reaches beyond recurring coincidence.
