I sympathize with your rant about the people who demanded a return to in-person meetings and then didn't show up. I used to be part of a play-reading group that was mostly absolutely wonderful, but we got into a very irritating cycle where some people would enthusiastically endorse reading particular plays and then not show up. Maybe this kind of thing is a syndrome and has a name, but it's certainly annoying.
