We Forgot That...

Shawn's relatives were Missouri Synod Lutherans. 

So we opted out of sitting through a funeral in a church whose congregation reviles our marriage.Thus, I've had the whole day to prep for the gig. Do you think I did?

No.

But only because I panic-prepped yesterday.

Ugh, it occurs to me that I never reported on this! It actually went very well!

Yeah, and we later heard from the brother who went to the funeral who said we'd made the right call. It was THE WORST funeral they'd ever been to, full of unnecessary fire and brimstone.

They are, and we heard from Shawn's brother that even he, who is kind of centrist when it comes to politics and religion, thought this church was TOO MUCH fire and brimstone.
