What kind of music do you listen to when you create? My answer: none, are you nuts? How can I hear my characters talking over someone else's lyrics??? But NO ONE likes that answer. I'm supposed to have a playlist. I fail playlists.)
I didn't see this -- lol, I can't listen to music when I write, either. I will listen to it to get in the mood, but when I'm actually writing, I can't listen to lyrics any more than I can while reading! This results in me blocking out the music to such an extent I forget I put it on, and it stops, or whoops I put it on repeat and after a couple of hours there are agonized howls from other people in the house. I have playlists but they're more about character exercises for me: what new bands would A like? Does she like covers? &c &c.
But then again I'm one of those overfocused one-track people who can't multitask and drills down into whatever I'm doing, which I don't think is that typical.
