See, the problem is, Saint Paul doesn't actually have a nearby landfill. There are places to dispose of extra large trash, but some of them won't take certain items. Our trash people are SUPPOSED to take large items and just bill the homeowner, but you have to call ahead since they need to send a special truck. And, well, they aren't motivated to do so because they have no competition in the city. The one garbage company got the contract for the entire city.
