I covet your native plants! Our shade is almost all dry shade, so if I fall down in watering, the columbine departs. Sometimes, during a really wet spring, it will come back again. You can tell from its performance in parks that it is quite robust in the right circumstances.

I've got a false indigo that is enormous and attempts to take over the sidewalk between the public walk and our porch every year. I keep taking its seed pods and scattering them around, but apparently they need more help than that. It's a wonderful plant, though, even when not flowering. I fell for it at Eloise Butler some years ago and bought one when I happened to see it available at Sunnyside.

Pussy toes are so improbable, I just love them. I hope yours may thrive. Squirrels dug mine up until I just had to stop trying. No idea what the appeal was. They didn't eat the plants. I think I just chose a spot they liked to bury stuff in.
