Old Cats

Yes, geriatric cats vary in their geriatric traits. That 27-year-old cat, Lyttia? Ate only crunchies, pretty much the same crunchies, with the occasional bit of butter licked off her dad's knife after dinner.

Then, well, one days I was over and offered her a bit of turkey from a deli sandwich, like I did with the elderly the cat at home. Lyttia liked it! After that she started trying -- and eating -- everything. Cheap wet food, fancier wet food, different crunchies, bits of whatever meat the people were having for dinner. Towards the end, her people regularly cooked for Lyttia along with themselves, for example, making three burgers: two for the monkeys and one for the kitty (though she'd require more time to finish hers).

So yes, what do they get to eat? "Whatever they want" is a very fine answer.
