Not that I have received a lot of complaints about this, but my ancient website from the early days of the Internet is finally offline.

The site we used to host it, which we got when it was a dial-up company, is finally going out of business. I am berefit. (An end of an era. No more mn.internet!!) But, as part of that, I needed to pull down every single file that I had stored on that site, including, much to my surprise, .mp3s of old radio programs on KFAI that I appeared on as a guest that still play. Just to be clear about how Old School I remain, I used CuteFTP to do all the file transferring. Does ANYONE still remember this program? Did you know it still exists?? Anyway, there were some real treasures tucked away in this dusty corner of the world-wide web. Including the above photo and a picture of our very first cat, Artemis, somehow not murdering me after a flea bath that she did NOT appreciate.

This was very clearly taken in our old apartment. Who could forget that horrid wallpaper?? I did love that place, though, it had so many windows. You can read echoes of it in my first Garnet Lacey novel. Garnet's apartment is loosely based on our Girard Avenue place (even though hers is in Madison and ours was in Minneapolis.) 

I imagine that you're wondering why I even had pictures like this uploaded to my website. I used to be very up-to-date on my "events/where to find me" page and it always used to include a goofy picture of something relevant to whatever was going on in my life at the time. 

I'm now going to be in the process of figuring out where to host the new version of lydamorehouse.com. Probably it will be WordPress? I don't know, but I will let you know when I know, of course.
