I'm about halfway through The Sparrow, by Mary Doria Russell. I know the ending is gonna destroy me, but I love the characters so much. So I'm spacing it out by alternating with non-fiction, lately Mark Kurlansky's Cod and Salt.
Media-wise, we've been watching Star Trek: Discovery season one on broadcast, and starting watching the Short Treks and season two online. We also invested in a DVD of The Middleman, a criminally under-appreciated series that feels like a mash-up of the Steed-and-Peel Avengers, Get Smart, with a character stolen from Due South. ABC Family didn't know what to do with it, so it only got one season; the DVD also includes a table-read of the unfilmed script that resolved the series ending cliffhanger. We're rationing them out, no more than one a week, because we have so few.
